Research

Dr. Nwankwo’s in-depth research focuses on nineteenth and twentieth century U.S. African American and Caribbean literature and culture. She explores the encounters and experiences between Afro-descendants in the United States, Caribbean and Latin America in the areas of culture, identity, and ideology.

Programs

She is the founding director of Voices from Our America and The Wisdom of the Elders. Both programs bridge the gap between academic research and community engagement.
